Trademark Registration Online (Govt of India)

Trademark e-filing is done on the Government of India’s IP India portal. See what you need before you file there, or let our agent file it.

The Official Government Website for Trademarks

Trademarks in India are registered by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, and online filing is done on its IP India portal (ipindia.gov.in). The government fee is paid there, and the application number, examination report and certificate all come from there.

MarkRTD is not a government website. This page is a free checklist that shows what the government asks for: the documents for your business type, the official fee per class and the time it takes. You can file yourself on the official portal from the link in the tool, or have our agent file it for you.

What You Need for Online Filing

A digital signature (DSC) or the agent’s login, ID and address proof, the brand name and logo, the class and description of your goods, and the date you started using the brand. If you claim earlier use, a user affidavit with bills or ads is needed.
