What Active, Cancelled and Suspended Mean
Active: the registration is valid, and the business can charge GST and issue tax invoices. Cancelled: the registration has ended, by the taxpayer’s request or by the department; it should not issue GST invoices any more. Suspended: the registration is on hold while cancellation is in process; the business cannot make taxable supplies under it in that time.
Before you pay a supplier or claim input tax credit, check that their GSTIN is Active. GST charged on a bill from a cancelled GSTIN can cost you the credit. Type the GSTIN above to see the status with the name and address.
