HSN Code Finder

Type your product in English or Hinglish, or an HSN code, and see the code with its GST rate, including when the rate depends on the product or its price.

How to Find the HSN Code and GST Rate of a Product

HSN is the code that identifies a product on a GST invoice and in your returns. Type the product name in English or in common Hinglish words such as chudiyan, chadar or masala, or type a code you already have. The box shows the HSN code with its GST rate, and the official description of that code.

The list has about 22,000 codes from the GST portal. Rates come from the GST notifications in force since 22 September 2025, with slabs of 5%, 18% and 40%, 3% for gold and jewellery, and exempt goods at nil.

Why One HSN Code Can Have More Than One GST Rate

A rate often depends on the product or its price, not just the code. Clothing and footwear under ₹2,500 are taxed at 5%, and above that at 18%. Rice and flour can be exempt when sold loose but 5% when pre-packaged and labelled. Where this happens, the tool lists each case from the notification so that you can pick yours.

Everyday product names are matched to the codes sellers usually use, and some products can fit more than one code. Confirm the code and the rate with your CA before you bill.
