E-way Bill Validity Calculator

Distance → how many days your e-way bill is valid and the exact date and time it expires, with the midnight rule.

How E-way Bill Validity is Calculated

Validity depends on distance. For normal cargo an e-way bill is valid for one day for the first 200 km and one more day for every further 200 km or part of it: 850 km is 5 days. For over-dimensional cargo, a single large piece above normal vehicle size limits, it is one day per 20 km.

A day does not mean 24 hours. Each day ends at midnight, counted from the date the bill is made: a one-day bill made at 10 pm on 4 November is valid till the end of 5 November, about 26 hours. Enter when you made the bill to see the exact expiry time.

Extending an Expired E-way Bill

If goods are delayed by a breakdown, transhipment or any other reason, the transporter can extend the validity on the portal from eight hours before to eight hours after expiry, giving the remaining distance and the reason. Goods moving on an expired bill can be stopped and penalised.
